Antoinette Karuna

I’ve always loved working with words and images. This led me to earn a BA from Concordia University (Montreal) in communication studies (specializing in film production) and creative writing.

Travel, language, and a multi-cultural perspective are part of my heritage— I was raised bilingual (English and French) in a Tamil Sri Lankan / Malaysian and French Canadian household in London, England, and Quebec and Nova Scotia, Canada. I later lived for a decade in Berlin, Germany, from 2008 to 2018.

I now reside in beautiful Nova Scotia / Mi’kma’ki, Canada, where I assist a variety of local and international public- and private-sector clients with their writing, editing, translation, and filmmaking needs. I also teach Video within the Art Department at St. Francis Xavier University to students who are minoring in Art or who choose to take the course as an elective.

Since starting my communications business in 2014, I have focused on building long-term work relationships based on competence, respect, and good communication. I also always try to live up to my surname, Karuna, which means compassion in Sanskrit!

I prioritize professional development and am a proud member of the following organizations:
