Antoinette Karuna

I’ve always loved working with words and images. This led me to earn a BA from Concordia University (Montreal) in communication studies (specializing in film production) and creative writing.

Travel, language, and a multi-cultural perspective are part of my heritage— I was raised bilingual (English and French) in a Tamil Sri Lankan / Malaysian and French Canadian household in London, England, and Quebec and Nova Scotia, Canada. I later lived for a decade in Berlin, Germany, from 2008 to 2018.

I now reside in beautiful Nova Scotia / Mi’kma’ki, Canada, where I assist a variety of local and international public- and private-sector clients with their writing, editing, translation, and filmmaking needs. I also teach Filmmaking at St. Francis Xavier University.

Since starting my communications business in 2015, I have focused on building long-term work relationships based on competence, respect, and good communication. I also always try to live up to my surname, Karuna, which means compassion in Sanskrit!

I prioritize professional development and am a proud member of Editors Canada.
